Family Journal - Special Lady's Birthday

Here's a special lady in our family that just recently turned 94! This dear one is my kids' only living great-grandparent. We're so glad that she is close enough to get to spend lots of time with her. We love you, Great Gran!

Gran with Bo and his Uncle

Great Gran still talks about the time Bo came to visit her at her apartment when he was barely a day old. She was recovering from surgery and couldn't get out so we brought Bo to see her on our way home from the hospital. He was born on Great Papa's (her husband) birthday.

Cards from all the cousins

And plenty of hugs

Home Journal - Christmas Highlights

I need to get caught up on the Christmas happenings for this family! We were battling the sickies all through December (still are in fact) so we didn't get to do one of our favorite Christmas activities - going to see the Christmas lights at a big church nearby. But we did go out to a neat place called Woolaroc to see their light show and museum. We didn't dress appropriately for the cold weather so we didn't stay as long as we'd like. Next time we'll know.

We had some family fun with Ter's mom's family. Everybody got hats this year! Betty, Bo and I went home almost as soon as we got there because Betty threw up. The rest of the fam stayed and Aunt E drove them home.

There was only one taker for Christmas crafts!

We had our friends the D's come for a little Christmas get-together and sleepover.

Christmas Eve was spent at my parents, even though Betty was feeling puny again. That night I started with a sore throat too. Depsite that, we had a fun time getting together and opening presents with my parents, Great Gran and my brother's family and the Christmas Eve tradition of turkey and seafood gumbo.

The kids got us up at 6 am Christmas morning to open presents. Then we spent the rest of the day playing and getting ready for our trip the next day.

We spent a few days of the holiday with Ter's family visiting at his brother's house. There was lots of yummy food. Plenty of Wii Games and movies. Lego building by the boys. Basketball games. And fun with board games. We also watched Yogi Bear at the local theater and the lcoal wildlife. I was the only one feeling bad, but that was just a sore throat that cleared up the last day out.

Famous quote: Betty loved playing with their dog, Gabby, but she must have figured Gabby was an original because she said, "I'm playing with the Gabby!" That was the joke for the week. :) Good times!

Family Journal - Bo is One!!!

It's taken a little while, but finally I am able to post about the little guy turning ONE. It's been a rough year, especially the first six months. He struggled with whooping cough, RSV and a certain sister who turned 2 1/2 the day he was born. But I wouldn't change a thing since this blessing entered our lives. He is such a sweet, lovable little guy, but definitely rough and tough. He plays hard, loves the balls, says "hi", gives courtesy laughs and can use mommy as a jungle gym while nursing! But still loves to cuddle.

He had his first taste of ice cream on his birthday and took his first trip to the zoo, then he had his first taste of cake at his party (on a different day). Such a sweetie! I love you, Bo!
